Review Your Email Health Score
- In your account, navigate to Dashboard > Email Health Report
- Your email health data is organized into several sections to help you analyze your current performance and identify improvement opportunities
Understanding Your Health Score
Your email deliverability will be summarized by an overall health score (0-100), which is calculated using a weighted formula based on five key email performance metrics:
Performance Status Ranges:
- 80-100: High (Green) - Excellent deliverability
- 60-79: Good (Blue) - Strong performance with room for optimization
- 40-59: Low (Orange) - Needs attention and improvement
- 0-39: Bad (Red) - Requires immediate action
Key Metrics Tracked
Your aggregate performance metrics are displayed with current rates, trend indicators, and recommended benchmarks:
Delivery Rate: Percentage of emails successfully delivered (Target: >95%)
Open Rate: Percentage of delivered emails that were opened (Target: >33%)
Click Rate: Percentage of delivered emails that received clicks (Target: >1.2%)
Bounce Rate: Percentage of emails that couldn't be delivered (Target: <1%)
Unsubscribe Rate: Percentage of recipients who opted out (Target: <0.3%)
Complaint Rate: Percentage of emails marked as spam (Target: <0.01%)
Score Change Tracking
Monitor your progress with comprehensive change indicators that show how your performance has evolved:
Overall Score Change:
Your deliverability score change is prominently displayed below your score with a clear trend indicator and time period reference (e.g., "Your score has decreased by 13.2 points" with the comparison period "Aug 16 - Sep 15").
Individual Metric Changes:
Each metric displays its own trend indicator showing percentage changes:
- Red downward arrow (↓):Indicates a decrease in performance
- Example: "↓ 3.5%" for Delivery Rate, "↓ 14.6%" for Open Rate
- Green upward arrow (↑):Indicates improvement in performance
- Example: "↑ 0.0%" for Click Rate, Unsubscribe Rate, and Complaint Rate
- Note: For negative metrics like Bounce Rate, an upward arrow indicates worsening performance
Understanding Metric Trends:
- Positive metrics (Delivery, Open, Click rates): Green arrows = good, Red arrows = needs attention
- Negative metrics (Bounce, Unsubscribe, Complaint rates): Red arrows = good (decreasing), Green arrows = needs attention (increasing)
Time Period:
All changes are calculated comparing your current selected period against the previous selected number of days period, with the specific date range displayed below your overall score.
How Your Score is Calculated
Your deliverability score uses a transparent, weighted formula that prioritizes the most impactful metrics with no artificial boosting:
Formula Components:
Open Rate (30% weight): Measures recipient engagement
Click Rate (25% weight): Indicates content relevance and quality
Bounce Rate (20% weight): Reflects list quality and sender reputation
Unsubscribe Rate (15% weight): Shows content-audience fit
Complaint Rate (10% weight): Critical for maintaining sender reputation
Each metric is normalized against industry benchmarks and capped between 0 and 1 before applying the weights.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
"You must send at least 500 emails within the last 30 days. Start sending now to track your performance!"
This message appears when you haven't sent at least 500 emails in the last 30 days.
Solution: Continue sending emails to reach the minimum threshold. Your score will appear once you've sent 500+ emails within a 30-day period.
Score seems inaccurate or outdated
Remember that the Email Health Report excludes the last 24 hours of data to ensure scoring stability.
What this means: Recent campaign performance won't immediately impact your score, allowing for more reliable trend analysis.
Sudden score drop
If your score decreases significantly:
- Check recent campaigns for unusual bounce or complaint rates
- Review list sources for potential quality issues
- Analyze content changes that might affect engagement
- Monitor external factors like seasonal trends or industry changes
