What is the Quiz Builder?

The Quiz Builder allows you to create interactive quizzes that collect lead details, qualify intent, and produce a personalized outcome at the end of the quiz. Quizzes can include multiple pages and question types, optional scoring and categories, and a customizable results page with messaging and calls-to-action.

You can build from scratch or use templates, speed up creation by importing questions via CSV, and publish using an embed code or share link. Submissions can be mapped into CRM custom fields and used to trigger workflows for segmented follow-up.

Key Benefits of the Quiz Builder

  • Audience Segmentation: Use quiz responses and scoring to group contacts based on outcomes and intent.

  • Automation-Ready Follow-Up: Trigger workflows immediately when a quiz is submitted for real-time engagement.

  • Bulk Question Creation: Import multiple quiz questions into a page at once using CSV upload to save time.

  • Personalized Experience: Customize the results page with score tiers, sections, and CTAs to guide next steps.

  • CRM Mapping: Map quiz outcomes (scores, tiers, categories) into CRM custom fields for ongoing segmentation and reporting.

Scoring and Categories

Scoring and categories are the “logic layer” of a quiz. They help you translate answers into a clear result so the contact sees the right outcome on the results page

  • Categories are the possible outcome groups your quiz can return. Think of them as labels for results (for example: “Beginner,” “Intermediate,” “Advanced,” or “Service A vs Service B”). Answers can be tied to a category so the quiz knows which outcome the contact aligns with.

  • Scoring is the point system used to calculate a numeric result. Points are assigned to answer options, then totaled to determine a total score, category score or score tier (for example: 0–10 = Starter, 11–20 = Growth, 21–30 = Scale).

Results Page

The results page is the final step contacts see after submitting your quiz. It’s where you present the outcome (such as a score, tier, or category), explain what that outcome means, and guide the contact to the next best action.

Using a strong results page increases conversions because it connects the quiz outcome to a clear recommendation (e.g. booking a call, choosing the right offer, or starting the right nurture path). You are able to customize the results page to match your use and branding:

  • Edit the Header: Add your logo, business name, and custom text. Adjust layout, padding, and background color.

  • Configure Scores: The results are based on dynamic content. You can edit the text displayed for each score tier (e.g., Low, Medium, High).

  • Adjust Tiers: You can set the percentage ranges that define each tier (e.g., Low = 0-39%, Medium = 40-79%, etc.). You can also change the color associated with each tier to visually represent the result (e.g., red for low scores, green for high scores).

  • Add a Call-to-Action (CTA): Edit the CTA section to encourage the next step. For example, "Want to talk about your results? Book a call!" You can then hyperlink the button to your calendar, a product page, or another resource.

  • Customize the Footer: Add a footer logo, social media links, and even make it sticky.

How to Configure Score Tiers on the Results Page

Score tiers let you display different results content based on the contact’s total score. This keeps results personalized without requiring separate quizzes.

  1. From the quiz editor, go to Settings then select Edit Results Page.

  2. Click Configure Score Tiers

  3. Edit the names, colors and and ranges for each of the tiers. You can also removing existing tiers or add new ones.

Submissions and CRM Mapping

CRM Field Mapping writes a contact’s quiz outcomes, such as overall score and tier, per‑category scores and tiers, and highest/lowest category details, into contact custom fields.

Once quiz data is mapped into the CRM, you can use it in multiple ways:

  1. Segment Contacts: Filter or group contacts based on their quiz performance.

    • Create a Smart List of users with “Overall Score ≥ 80.”

    • Group users by “Fitness Tier = Beginner” for targeted messages.

  2. Personalize Automations: Use quiz results to tailor follow-up workflows.

    • Send different nurture emails depending on the highest or lowest category.

    • Trigger actions when a category score crosses a threshold.

How to Create a Quiz

Step 1: Open Quiz Editor

Navigate to Sites → Quizzes → + Add Quiz or select a quiz to edit.

Step 2: Choose a Template

Choose Start From Scratch or From Template. In the Template Library you can browse, filter, and search for a template. Preview and activate one to load it into the Quiz Builder.

Step 3: Configure the Quiz

Configure the quiz based on your needs. You can add as many questions and pages as needed!

Add and Delete Pages: All pages will appear in the order listed (Page 1 first, Page 2 second, etc).

Add and Delete Elements: Elements must be added to a Page. Elements can be dragged and dropped to reorder them inside a Page or to move them to a different Page.

Bulk Upload Quiz Questions (CSV): You can upload quiz questions in bulk using a CSV file directly inside the Quiz Builder. This allows you to add multiple questions to a page at once instead of creating them individually. The uploaded file is processed temporarily for import and is not stored on the platform, ensuring improved performance and reduced storage usage. After upload, all questions are added to the selected page and can be edited individually as needed. This feature is especially useful for course creators managing large sets of quiz questions.

Edit Element: Click an Element to highlight it and also open its settings in the Right Panel. Generally the Element will have a Question (the question shown to the Quiz user) and other standard settings like the Query Key (to pre-fill the question from a URL parameter and Required or Hidden. Each Element also has unique settings (ex: choice questions have Options which also allow Jump To branching logic).

Notifications: Click the Bell icon to show in the Left Panel. Toggle your personal Email Notification and an Auto Responder for the quiz user. You can set Subject, Email To, Reply To, and Sender Name.

Quiz email notifications can attach:

  • Quiz Submission PDF (the submitted responses)
  • Quiz Results Page PDF (the evaluated/scored results page)

Enable the Auto Responder in the quiz notification settings so recipients receive the PDF automatically.

Categories: Click the Grid icon to open the category popover. From here, you can add, rename, and delete categories, then assign categories and scores to answer options. The popover also explains how categories flow into the Result Page, so you understand how category scores will display.

Styles & Options: Click the lines & dots icon on the right side of the Top Panel. Under Styles you'll find Layout, Footer, Colors & Background, and Miscellaneous. Layout includes spacing controls such as the top margin so you can adjust the space above your quiz content without custom CSS. Under Options you'll find On Submit (what to do when the Quiz is done), Facebook Pixel ID, Facebook Pixel Events, Quiz Settings, and Footer HTML.

Element-Level Label Alignment: Element-level label alignment lets you set a different label position for each field, instead of applying one global alignment to the entire quiz. Use it to fine‑tune visual rhythm and spacing, especially in compact layouts. To set element-level label alignment, first select a question. In the right sidebar, use the selector Arrows under Label Alignment to define your choice. Keep in mind that on mobile, alignment automatically defaults to Top, ensuring a clear, user-friendly layout regardless of desktop settings

Step 4: Customize the Results Page

You are able to customize the results page to match your use and branding.

Step 5: Integrate and Publish

Once you've saved your quiz, click the Integrate button in the top-right corner. You have two options:

  • Embed: Copy the iframe code to embed the quiz directly onto your website or funnel pages.

  • Link: Copy the direct link to share in emails, social media, or conversations.
