Community Engagement

Post Creation Nudges in Communities

Turn new courses, events, and learning milestones into timely community posts with pre-filled messages and automatic mentions—sharing important updates has never been easier.
What You'll Learn

Post Creation Nudges are smart prompts inside LeadConnector Communities (GoKollab) that appear right after key actions—like creating a course, creating an event, or completing a course.

This guide shows you how Post Creation Nudges work, when they appear, and how to maximize community engagement by sharing updates at the moment they matter most.

Labs Feature

Post Creation Nudges are currently available in GoKollab (New UI / Beta). If you're using the legacy communities experience, reach out to Support to confirm access.

1

What Are Post Creation Nudges?

Post Creation Nudges are intelligent prompts inside LeadConnector Communities (GoKollab) that appear immediately after you complete key actions—like creating a course, creating an event, or completing a course. Instead of requiring admins or learners to remember to post updates manually, LeadConnector surfaces a "Share as Post" prompt with a pre-filled message and automatic mentions, so important updates can be shared in one click.

These nudges use the standard community post composer—where members already create rich posts and select channels—to keep everything familiar and easy to manage. By appearing at the moment of action, nudges significantly increase the likelihood that important content will be shared when it matters most.

How It Works

Nudges detect when you complete a supported action (like creating a course), then present a pre-filled post with automatic resource mentions. You can review, customize, select the right community group and channel, and publish instantly—or dismiss the nudge and the resource remains unchanged.

2

Key Benefits

Understanding why these nudges exist makes it easier to weave them into your engagement strategy instead of treating them as one-off prompts. Post Creation Nudges are designed to remove friction, increase visibility, and celebrate meaningful activity inside your communities.

Instant visibility for new content — New courses and events can be shared as posts immediately after they're created, helping members discover them without hunting through tabs or menus.
Built-in timing at the moment of action — Nudges appear right when admins or learners are most engaged (right after creating or completing something), which significantly increases the likelihood of sharing.
Pre-filled posts with automatic mentions — Course and event mentions are inserted automatically, giving members a clear, clickable path to the resource, which supports higher registrations and course starts.
More consistent community communication — Announcements about new learning opportunities and upcoming events are less likely to be forgotten, keeping engagement steady as your community grows.
Motivation and social proof from learner wins — Course completion nudges help learners share their achievements, inspiring others to enroll and complete content as well.
Minimal setup, no extra tools required — Nudges work directly within GoKollab Communities and use the existing post creation workflow and channels you already manage.

Post Creation Nudges for New Courses

New course nudges help admins turn every course launch into a clear, discoverable announcement without writing a post from scratch. As soon as a course is added to a group, the admin can share it with the relevant members in seconds.

When you add a course inside a community or attach a course to a group (often via the Learning area of your community or through Kollab Studio), you can already configure course details, pricing, and access. Post Creation Nudges build on that flow by prompting you to broadcast the course to the right audience.

How the nudge behaves for new courses:
  • After a group admin creates a new course and associates it with a community group, a "Share as Post" prompt appears.
  • The post is pre-filled with the course title and a course mention, making the announcement clear and clickable for members.
  • Admins can edit the post text before publishing, confirm or change the target community group and channel (using the same channel system they already use for Announcements, General chat, or other categories), and publish immediately with one click.

Post Creation Nudges for Events

Event nudges ensure that when you create a Community Event—like a workshop, Q&A, or live room session—you also share it as a post so members can see and register quickly.

Community Events already centralize event details (date, time, description, free or paid, and visibility for specific groups, courses, or membership levels). Post Creation Nudges extend that by turning event creation into a posting opportunity right away.

How the nudge behaves for events:
  • When an authorized user (such as a group owner or admin) creates a new Community Event, they'll see a "Share as Post" prompt after saving.
  • The generated post includes a pre-filled event announcement and an event mention that links to the event, helping members find details and register.
  • Before posting, the creator can adjust the post copy to better match the tone or audience and select the best group and channel (for example, an Announcements channel for major events or a niche channel for smaller cohorts).

Post Creation Nudges for Course Completions

Course completion nudges focus on the learner experience, turning each completion into a moment of recognition and encouragement that can inspire others to keep learning.

When learners finish a course inside a community's Learning area, LeadConnector already tracks their progress and can present next steps or related content. Post Creation Nudges add a celebration layer by inviting learners to share what they've achieved.

How the nudge behaves for completions:
  • After a learner completes a course, they receive a congratulatory prompt inviting them to "Share as Post."
  • The pre-filled post typically includes a short congratulatory or reflective message and a mention of the completed course, so other members can easily find and enroll in it.
  • The learner can then personalize the message (for example, adding what they learned or thanking the instructor) and choose the group and channel where the achievement will be posted, subject to their posting permissions in that community.
6

Share as Post Prompt Experience

The "Share as Post" prompt uses the same core post composer as other community posts, so admins and members don't need to learn a new interface. This consistency keeps all of your content—manual posts, scheduled posts, and nudge-driven posts—flowing through the same channels and permissions model.

What to expect when a nudge appears:
Step 1
Trigger an eligible action
  • Add a new course to a group.
  • Create a new Community Event.
  • Complete a course as a learner.
Step 2
See the "Share as Post" prompt

A modal or panel appears with a pre-filled post. The post already contains the relevant course or event mention, so it's ready to share.

Step 3
Review and customize the post

Edit the headline or body text to better fit your voice or call to action. Optionally add emojis, attachments (images, videos, PDFs, GIFs), or embedded media—just like any other community post.

Step 4
Select the group and channel

Confirm which community group the post belongs to and choose the appropriate channel (e.g., Announcements, General, or a topic-specific channel), using the existing channel structure you've set up in Communities.

Step 5
Publish the post

Click Post to publish instantly to the selected group and channel. Members will then see the update in their community feed, alongside other posts, events, and content.

How to Set Up Post Creation Nudges

Post Creation Nudges do not require complex configuration; they are designed to work automatically within the GoKollab (New UI/Beta) communities experience. However, a solid setup of Communities, courses, and events ensures the nudges show up in the right places and are genuinely useful to your members.

Follow these steps to ensure you're ready to use Post Creation Nudges effectively:

Step 1
Confirm you're using GoKollab (New Communities UI)

Access Kollab Studio, LeadConnector's creator hub for managing communities and courses in one place. Make sure you can see your communities and courses listed there. If you're still on an older communities experience, reach out to Support to confirm GoKollab access.

Step 2
Create or verify your community and groups

In Communities, create a community (if you haven't already) and set up the groups and channels that structure your member discussions (e.g., Announcements, General, topic rooms). Confirm you are an owner or admin so you can create courses and events in that community.

Step 3
Add courses to your community

Use the Learning or Courses area associated with your community or access courses through Kollab Studio. Create a new course (or ensure existing courses are properly associated with the right group). When you save the course, watch for the "Share as Post" nudge and follow the flow to publish your announcement.

Step 4
Enable and create Community Events

Within your community, navigate to the Events or Community Events area. Create an event with title, time, description, location (such as Live Room, Zoom, or another link), and visibility settings for the appropriate audience. After saving, use the Post Creation Nudge to share the event as a community post with an automatic event mention.

Step 5
Test the learner experience for course completions

Enroll a test member (or yourself) in one of your courses in the community Learning area. Progress through the course and complete it to trigger the course completion nudge. Customize the pre-filled post, select the desired community group and channel, and post the celebration to verify visibility.

Step 6
Incorporate nudges into your engagement plan

Decide which channels should receive new course announcements, event promotions and reminders (alongside calendar and email reminders where configured), and course completion celebrations. Communicate expectations to moderators and instructors so they consistently use nudges when they appear.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who sees Post Creation Nudges and when?
Post Creation Nudges appear to users who perform specific actions in GoKollab Communities: group admins/owners who create courses, users who create Community Events, and learners who complete a course. Each nudge is tied to that specific action and resource.
Q: Do nudges publish posts automatically?
No. Nudges prepare a pre-filled post, but you still need to click Post to publish. This ensures you can review, adjust the wording, and confirm the correct group and channel before the update goes live.
Q: Can I edit the text or remove the course/event mention from the pre-filled post?
Yes. The nudge uses the regular community post composer, so you can freely edit the message. The course or event mention is added for convenience, but you can modify or remove it just like any other content in your post.
Q: Can I choose a different group or channel than the one I just worked in?
Yes. The nudge lets you choose which community group and channel to post into, using the same channel system you see when creating normal posts. This helps you route announcements to the correct audience, such as an Announcements channel versus a discussion channel.
Q: Are Post Creation Nudges available in all communities or only in GoKollab?
Post Creation Nudges are currently available in GoKollab (New UI / Beta). If you're using legacy community experiences, you may not see these prompts until the feature is rolled out more broadly or your account is migrated to GoKollab.
Q: Does skipping a nudge affect my course, event, or completion tracking?
No. If you dismiss or ignore a nudge, your course, event, or completion remains intact. Nudges simply help you share updates; they don't change the underlying resource or its tracking.
Q: Can I schedule a post from a nudge instead of publishing immediately?
Post Creation Nudges are optimized for quick, in-the-moment sharing. If you need scheduled posts or recurring campaigns promoting your communities, you can create scheduled community posts through Social Planner's Communities integration, which gives you unified content management and scheduling for community posts.
Q: How do these posts interact with other community content like events, chats, and live rooms?
Nudge-generated posts appear alongside other content in your community's feed. Members may discover your events and courses through both posts and the Events or Learning areas, and can still use features like Live Rooms for events and GoKollab Chats for direct follow-up conversations.
